Will Smith X Chloe Lin
I didn't expect this...
Arigato, dear investor,
I just got back from the 1 Billion Follower Summit in Dubai, and honestly…
before I went, I wasn’t expecting much.
After all, strategies are everywhere now.
You can learn content creation, business online.
I came mainly because a group of close friends wanted to go together, and I thought, why not, let’s just follow the flow.
But I never expected to walk away with so many deep reflections—not just about content creation, but about life and investing too.
There were many incredible creators and entrepreneurs at the summit, but I want to share three people who impacted me the most, and how their lessons reminded me so strongly of investing.

1. Vinh Giang — Success is built one step at a time
I first saw Vinh pop up on my feed about 3 years ago, teaching communication skills.
What most people don’t see is that before he became a creator superstar with 15M followers, he had already tried so many things:
Creating short films
Teaching communication on YouTube that nobody watched
Posting consistently with very little traction
And now?
Millions watch him every day—and with that comes criticism, negativity, and hate comments.
Yet he showed us something powerful:
Success isn’t a straight line.
There are ups and downs every single day.
What really stayed with me was when he said on stage:
“Imagine negativity as a gift. If someone gives it to you, and you choose not to accept it… who does it belong to?”
It belongs back to the person.
That hit me deeply.
Because I’ll be honest—I sometimes let negative comments make me doubt myself and the work I do.
But his reminder helped me realign:
Take feedback from people who truly care
Focus on giving value
Keep improving, without letting noise distract you

💡 In investing, this matters even more.
Your friends or loved ones might say:
“Investing is dangerous” (my dad used to tell me this)
“The market is too high now, you should sell” (my mum still tells me this 😅)
They often mean well—but they may not have the experience or knowledge.
That’s why I choose to learn from people like Warren Buffett, instead of fear-based opinions.
Discern the source.
Whether in content, business, or investing—this skill changes everything.
2. Chris Do — Creation as personal development
Before the summit, I didn’t know much about Chris Do.
But friends who had gone through his programs kept telling me how transformational his work was.
On stage, he shared something that really made me pause:
Instead of chasing virality, views, and numbers,
see content creation as a form of personal development—while helping others along the way.
That hit close to home.

When I look back at my journey over the last 3 years:
I started knowing nothing about content creation
Then learned how to write, speak, and create videos
Eventually built confidence—not just for myself, but for my audience
Through content, I grew as a person.
Every challenge forced me to become stronger, clearer, and more grounded.
💡 And investing is exactly the same.
Investing isn’t just about returns.
It’s a journey of:
Emotional control
Psychological stability
Continuous learning
There will be moments you feel disappointed.
Moments you want to give up.
But if you keep learning, refining your mindset, and improving your skills—you will get there.

3. Will Smith — We are more similar than we think
I was genuinely shocked when Will Smith walked on stage.
Not only was I star-struck, but his message was incredibly heartfelt.
He recently traveled from the North Pole to the South Pole with National Geographic, and shared a story about encountering a spider—whose poison can also become an antidote used to heal illnesses.
Then he said something that quieted the entire room:
“Someone here might be facing a divorce.
Someone might have just been retrenched.
Someone might be dealing with illness.
We all face challenges… and at the end of the day, we ask the same questions about life.”

It reminded me of why I started investing in the first place.
I wanted to:
Take care of my family
Make sure my parents don’t have to worry about money as they age
And I know this is the same reason many of you started too.
Different backgrounds.
Different stories.
But very similar hopes.
That’s why I truly believe we grow faster together—by supporting, learning, and lifting each other up.
I’m deeply grateful to walk this journey with you, and I learn so much from you along the way too.
Thank you for trusting me.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your investing journey.
