What it’s really like to invest full-time
3 things to prepare before you invest full-time
Arigato, dear investor,
Last night, I was talking to a friend who’s been investing for a while.
She asked me something that stopped me in my tracks:
“I’m thinking of quitting my job to become a full-time investor. What’s it really like?”
I knew exactly what she meant.
Because before I made that leap myself, I had so many fears.
I wondered if I was good enough.
If I’d be okay without a fixed salary.
If I could really build a life around my investments.
Maybe you’ve had those thoughts too.
The truth is:
Quitting my job at 33 was the best thing I’ve ever done. 💼✨
No one in my immediate family had done anything like this.
I didn’t have a roadmap. Just a deep desire for freedom — and the courage to invest differently.
Today, I have more time, more peace, and more freedom than I ever thought possible — and I’m writing this letter to you on my way to Montreal and New York City!

But that doesn’t mean there weren’t challenges.
The market doesn’t go up in a straight line.
And emotional discipline becomes even more important when you no longer have a paycheck to fall back on.
So if it’s your goal to become a full-time investor one day, here are 3 pieces of advice I’d love to share:
1️⃣ Get your financial foundation solid before you quit.
Make sure you have at least 12 months of living expenses saved up — not invested, but somewhere safe and accessible. And ensure your portfolio is already generating consistent, reliable results without needing you to stare at the screen all day.
Peace of mind is a powerful foundation.
2️⃣ Shift your mindset — from “monthly paycheck” to “long-term peace.”
Investing full-time isn’t about chasing quick wins to replace your old salary.
It’s about developing a sound strategy, being patient with the market, and embracing delayed gratification.
I’m proof you genuinely can have both: quitting my job at 33 AND the peaceful investor life you want.
3️⃣ Have other income streams.
Whether it’s a passion business, rental income, or side hustle — additional income gives you joy and breathing space. It prevents you from dipping into your portfolio just to cover bills, reducing financial stress and keeping your compounding undisturbed.
If becoming a full-time investor is your goal one day —
Start preparing now. Slowly, steadily, intentionally.
And if you want to learn how to build a portfolio that grows peacefully — without needing to take big risks or time the market —
I’m hosting a free 2-hour Options to Freedom Masterclass that will show you how.
It’s perfect for anyone who wants to grow to their first (or next) million — in a way that feels calm, safe, and free.
No pressure. Just a space to learn, ask, and explore what freedom through investing can really look like.
