weird money rules

I have

In partnership with

Arigato, dear investor,

I want to share something personal today — not as advice, not as a rulebook, but simply as a reflection from my own journey.

Sometimes people ask me how I think about money.

And when they see these numbers, they get curious:

So let me explain:

I’m happy to spend $300+ treating my family to a good meal.
Those moments around the table mean a lot to me.

But on most workdays, I still eat at home.
It feels grounding. Simple. Enough.

I’ll gladly spend $5,000 taking my mum on a holiday.
Watching her rest and smile reminds me why I work so hard in the first place.

At the same time, I choose not to spend on alcohol, cigarettes, vapes, gambling, or getting wasted.
Not because they’re “bad”… they just don’t align with the life I’m trying to build.

I’m very willing to spend $15,000 learning — joining courses, finding mentors, picking up new skills.
Learning has always been my quiet form of self-care.

But I’ve also learned that I don’t need designer bags or expensive clothes to feel confident or worthy.
I already am.

I pay for insurance to protect my health, my loved ones, and the life I’m building —
because peace of mind is something I deeply value.

And yes, I still walk or take public transport whenever I can.
Not every trip needs to be fast. Some can just be… present.

Over time, I realised something important:

This isn’t about being strict with money.
It’s about being kind to my future self.

Money, to me, is simply a tool —
to take care of the people I love,
to keep learning and growing,
and to live with a little more calm and freedom.

We all have different numbers.
Different seasons.
Different priorities.

And that’s okay.

If there’s one question we can always come back to often, it’s this:

“Does this choice support your priorities and the life you’re trying to grow into?”

If yes, spend your money with joy.
If not, let it go — without guilt.

Just something I wanted to share with you today 🤍
If this resonates, I’m glad you’re here.
