But 5 years ago, I bought my first private property in Singapore.
Today, it's sitting at around a S$100,000 paper loss.
Does that mean property is a bad investment?
I don't think so.
I think I made a poor investment decision.
Looking back, I realised I bought the property without really understanding what makes a good property investment.
Things like:
Which locations actually outperform?
Should I have bought a resale instead?
Would another project have performed better?
How do experienced investors evaluate a property before buying?
These are questions I wish I had asked before signing the paperwork.
That's one of the reasons I love investing.
