The Most Personal Investment I’ve Ever Made

Arigato, dear investor,

Many of you know me as the Arigato Investor, always sharing about building wealth, investing wisely, and creating financial freedom.

But today… I want to talk about another kind of future planning — one that’s far more personal, vulnerable, and close to my heart.

My egg freezing journey was recently featured in RICE Media, and it made me reflect on why we need to normalise not just financial planning, but fertility planning too.

I’ve always been focused on building my life — travelling, growing my business, achieving financial stability before thinking about kids.

But as I turned 35, reality hit.

No matter how young, healthy, or energetic I feel… biology doesn’t wait. Egg quantity and quality decline with age. And I realised, if I truly want the freedom to have children later, I needed to take action now.

That’s why I made the decision to freeze my eggs.

It wasn’t easy. The process involved hormone injections, minor surgery, and yes… a hefty $17,000 bill. But I see it as buying time, buying peace of mind — and keeping my options open.

I count myself lucky to afford this, but not every woman has that privilege. Honestly, one of the simplest, most affordable steps any woman in her 20s or 30s can take is just checking your egg count.

It costs a few hundred dollars at most — I did mine at The O&G Specialist Clinic in Singapore — and it gives you clarity on where you stand with your fertility.

It’s like how we plan for insurance or our investments — why don’t we plan for fertility too?

Thank you Dr Tan from The O&G Specialist Clinic for going through the entire process with me!

If you’re curious or considering this for yourself (or your partner), I poured my heart into this video sharing every part of my egg freezing journey — the fears, the lessons, and the hope:

I believe women — and couples — deserve to plan for their future on their own terms, not just financially, but also holistically.

We plan our careers.
We plan our money.
It’s time we plan our fertility too.
