It felt like a big milestone.
Something I’ve always been told was “safe”… “stable”… and almost guaranteed to go up over time.
In my mind, I thought:
“This is it. From here, everything should be smooth sailing.”
I imagined watching the value grow quietly in the background…
Thinking that one day, I would simply sell and walk away with a nice profit.
But recently… I checked the latest transaction price for the exact property type I bought.
And my heart sank.
If I were to sell today,
I could potentially lose close to $100,000.

I was honestly shocked.
And in fact, DEVASTATED.
Because like many people,
I always believed property prices would eventually go up.
But the truth is…
sometimes, they don’t.
What hit me the hardest wasn’t just the potential loss.
It was realizing that…

👉 And I didn’t fully understand what truly drives property returns
And I know I’m not alone.
