Learning from Robert Kiyosaki (again)
Still in awe after 4 times
Arigato, dear investor,
Yesterday was such a special day for me—I had the chance to attend the Success Resources conference and meet Robert Kiyosaki once again.
This was the 4th time I’ve learned directly from him in person, and even though I already had a sense of what his messages would be, I still walked away in awe. His lessons hit differently every time, because I always find myself reflecting on my own journey.

I first met Robert Kiyosaki in 2023 and even had the honour of interviewing him!
Here are my biggest takeaways from Robert yesterday:
1. It’s not that assets appreciate—it’s that the dollar depreciates
Robert reminded us that since the US dollar delinked from gold, paper money has been losing value. A $10 note today is worth far less than a 50-cent silver coin from decades ago.

That’s why he has always bought assets—gold, silver, real estate, bitcoin, and now even owning a gold mining company that he’s taking public. Holding cash long-term is a losing game.
This really resonated with me, because 10 years ago I started my own journey by buying my first stock, my first piece of gold, and eventually my first property here in Singapore. Looking back, it’s been so rewarding—not only preserving my wealth but also growing it steadily over time.
2. No one taught us this in school
It may sound cliché, but it’s true—schools don’t teach financial education. And when you think about it, there’s a reason.
If everyone learned about investing, passive income, and building wealth from young, how would governments motivate us to work and keep economies running? The system was designed that way, and it’s not about blaming it—it’s about taking responsibility now that we know better.
One of my followers recently messaged me, saying that she wished she had started earlier. But the truth is—it’s never too late. We all still have a long enough runway to compound our wealth, as long as we start today.

It’s never too late to start!
3. Surround yourself with the right environment
Robert only surrounds himself with people who are financially literate, because he knows environment shapes mindset.
He applauded everyone in the room at Success Resources for making the decision to spend 2 days learning and leveling up—that alone makes the environment 10X better than being surrounded by people who don’t care about financial education.

Meet my two amazing classmates from Thailand, from Making the Stage—one of my favourite programs by Success Resource
Robert also often thanks founder of Success Resources Richard Tan and Veronica for helping me to spread the message of financial education and empowering people with different tools to succeed in life.
Personally, I can say this is true for me too. Years ago, I attended my very first Success Resources event, and that exposure changed everything.
Robert often thanks the founders of Success Resources, Richard Tan and Veronica Tan, for helping him spread the message of financial education and for equipping people with different tools to succeed in life.

Thank you Veronica for impacting the world!
Yes, sometimes at seminars you’ll get sold on programs—but I see it differently. I’ve invested over 5 figures into courses on investing, trading, internet marketing, and personal development. Not every program was immediately applicable to me, but without those experiences, I would never have opened my mind to the idea of passive income—and I wouldn’t have the million-dollar portfolio I’ve built today.

Grateful for my classmate and group leader from Making the Stage—couldn’t have asked for a better teammate!
4. Live with a purpose
Robert doesn’t need to fly all the way from the US to Singapore for money. He has more than enough.
He was there because of his purpose—to spread financial education. Even though his health isn’t in the best shape (in fact, he had a fall during this trip), he still stood strong on stage, reminding us why financial literacy matters.
That level of dedication inspired me deeply. It was a powerful reminder that wealth is important, but it’s purpose that gives meaning to everything we do.

Crossing paths with the legend again in Japan, 2024.
For me, walking away from this conference felt like coming full circle. I was once a participant, just getting exposed to the idea of investing. And today, I’m grateful to be living proof that starting small, learning consistently, and surrounding yourself with the right environment really works.
