Investing Checklist
CPF/SRS
Arigato, dear investor,
As the year winds down, I always like to pause and do one quiet thing:
A year-end money check-in.
Not out of fear.
Not because I must rush.
But because this small window before 31 Dec can make a huge difference to how our CPF, SRS, and taxes work for us — calmly, over decades.
So I put together a simple year-end checklist for you below.
Think of this as a gentle reminder, not a to-do list to stress over 🙂

A simple CPF + SRS year-end checklist ✅
1️⃣ Top up CPF Special Account (SA)
Up to $8,000 tax relief
4% guaranteed interest
Cannot exceed the Full Retirement Sum (FRS)
This is one of the most boring moves — and also one of the most powerful for long-term compounding.
2️⃣ Top up CPF Medisave (MA)
Also earns 4% interest
Shares the same $8,000 tax relief cap as SA
Cannot exceed the Basic Healthcare Sum (BHS)
Healthcare + tax planning in one single decision.
3️⃣ Top up CPF for loved ones
Extra $8,000 tax relief
Parents, grandparents, spouse & siblings*
Applies to SA / RA / MA only
*Children & extended family aren’t eligible for tax relief
This is one of the most meaningful ways I see people support family and plan wisely.
4️⃣ Contribute to SRS
SG Citizen / PR cap: $15,300
Foreigner cap: $35,700
Most useful if you’re in a higher tax bracket
(Generally above ~$120k income)
SRS shines when you understand how it fits into your bigger plan — not as a random top-up.
5️⃣ Please don’t forget to invest your SRS
This part is huge.
Uninvested SRS earns 0%.
Personally:
I’ve invested my SRS for the past 4 years
My total returns are over 50% (~12% annualised)
I use the same investing approach for my CPF OA, and it’s given me returns far beyond the 2.5% OA interest

CPF and SRS aren’t “stuck money” —
they’re long-term capital, if you know how to invest them properly.
6️⃣ Check your tax relief cap
CPF + SRS fall under the $80,000 annual personal tax relief cap.
Already maxed out?
→ Then there’s no additional tax benefit from topping up more.
Simple, but often overlooked.
7️⃣ Read this before you top up
CPF top-ups are irreversible
Early SRS withdrawals come with penalties
And that’s exactly why I love investing CPF & SRS.
Because:
You have a long time horizon
You don’t need to rush
Calm, disciplined investing works beautifully here
I’ve been compounding my CPF & SRS at about 12% annualised, and my personal goal is simple:
If you want to learn how to do this step by step
I know CPF & SRS investing can feel confusing:
What can you actually invest in?
What’s safe vs unnecessary risk?
How do you build returns without gambling?
That’s why I created my 7-Course Investing Bundle.
Inside, I walk you through:
How to invest CPF OA & SRS properly
How I choose ETFs for long-term compounding
How to build returns calmly, without over-trading
How all of this fits into a bigger, sustainable wealth plan
No hype.
No shortcuts.
Just clear guidance — the Arigato way.

If you’ve been meaning to “get CPF & SRS right” but didn’t know where to start, this is a gentle place to begin.
