Arigato, {{ first name | dear investor }},
Yesterday, I had a dream.
A dream about my late grandma.
And it surprised me because I haven't dreamt about her for many, many years.
Growing up in Guangzhou, I spent most of my childhood with my grandma.
My parents were often busy, so it was my grandma who took care of me, cooked for me, and spent time with me every day.

We were incredibly close.
But when I was six years old, I moved from Guangzhou to Suzhou.
And from that point onward, I barely saw her.
Life became busy with school.
And before I knew it, my grandma passed away.
Yesterday, in my dream, I told her that I was getting married.
And when I woke up, I felt an overwhelming sense of guilt.
The guilt came from realizing that I never truly appreciated her and spent time with her while she was still around.
When I was young, I didn't understand the sacrifices she made.
I didn't understand the values she taught me.
Being thrifty.
Being kind to people.
Treating others with respect.
Many of the values that shape who I am today actually came from her.
But I only learned to appreciate her after I became an adult.
By then, it was already too late.
I never got the chance to properly thank her.
As I reflected on this dream, I realized something.
Many of us spend our days chasing goals.
Trying to make more money.
Trying to build a better future.
Trying to achieve the next milestone.
And there's nothing wrong with that.
In fact, I believe creating wealth is important.
But sometimes, in the process of building a better life, we accidentally neglect the people who make life meaningful in the first place.
The truth is:
Money can buy many things.
But it cannot buy back time.
It cannot buy another conversation with someone you've lost.
It cannot buy another memory.
As investors, we often talk about compounding.
But relationships compound too.
A simple meal with your parents.
A phone call with your grandparents.
A weekend spent with your loved ones.
These small moments compound into memories that become priceless years later.
So today, I just wanted to gently remind you:
As you work hard for your future...
Don't forget to cherish the people who are walking this journey with you today.
One day, you may realize that the moments you spent with them were worth far more than the money you earned during that same period.
I'm grateful for this dream.
Because it reminded me of what truly matters.
And I hope it serves as a gentle reminder for you too. ❤️

What happens when you throw out the GTM playbook
That investor was wrong. Gamma is now worth $2B, with 50M users and more than half their growth driven by word of mouth.
They're one of 6 AI-native startups in HubSpot for Startups' free Bold Bets Playbook. Replit grew revenue 50x after half the team pushed back on the strategy. Ramp generated 100M+ views from a single stunt. Clay's co-founder wouldn't hang up a sales call until the prospect DMed him in Slack.
Each one took a GTM risk most founders would never greenlight. Each one paid off.
