2 weeks ago, I bought 2 beautiful gold bars. They weren’t just any investment; I bought them with my mom in mind. As I handed her the gold, her face lit up, a precious moment that reminded me of why I began this journey—to create security, not only for myself but for those I care about.

Here’s something surprising: over the past 10 years, gold has performed almost as well as the US stock market. But if you stretch your horizon a bit further—say, 20 years—gold actually starts to edge out stocks in performance. Amazing, right?

Now, if you’re wondering if I’d ever put all my assets into gold, my answer is still a clear 'no.' Why? Because while gold is a great way to diversify and add stability, it doesn’t generate cash flow like stocks do. Businesses grow, innovate, and contribute to a portfolio over time in ways gold simply can’t.

The Bigger Picture in Investing

When you look at the past 30 years, US stocks have outpaced gold significantly. If you had invested in the 1950s and held on, your return on the stock market would be a staggering 70,000%, compared to gold’s 15,000%. This is why my core focus stays on the stock market, where businesses are constantly evolving and driving real growth.
