Arigato, {{ first name | dear investor }},
Four years ago, if you told me that a random conversation inside a Facebook investing community would eventually lead to me getting engaged...
I probably wouldn't have believed you. 😆
But life has a funny way of surprising us.
Four years ago, Ken and I met online in a Facebook investing community.
At first, we were simply chatting about investing.
One conversation became two.
Two conversations became months of chatting.
And before we knew it, we had spent six months talking almost every day through Facebook Messenger.
The funny thing? We had never met in person.
Since Ken lives in Taiwan and I was in Singapore, our first official date wasn't at a café or restaurant...
It was in New Zealand. ✈️

Our first date in New Zealand
Needless to say, my parents were worried.
To be fair, I had the same concerns too. 😅
So before booking the trip, I did my due diligence.
We spent countless hours on Zoom calls.
We talked about our values, our goals, our dreams, and our fears.
Only after I felt confident that he was a genuine person did I decide to take the leap of faith.
And looking back today...
I'm so grateful I did.
Because four years later, after countless flights, long-distance calls, adventures, challenges, and growth together...
Ken and I are officially engaged. ❤️
And honestly?
The proposal completely caught me by surprise.
Recently, we were learning freediving in Taiwan.
What I didn't know was that Ken had secretly teamed up with our coach, Kobe, to plan the proposal.

Thanks Kobe for planning this special proposal for us in the sea!
While we were diving in the open sea, I was asked to retrieve a small box from the bottom of the ocean.
I thought it was part of the training exercise.

Look at what I found apart from the ring during this free dive! @小琉球台湾
When I opened the box underwater and saw a ring inside...
My first thought was:
"Wait... someone left the ring in the ocean?!" 🤣
And when I surfaced, there was Ken.
Waiting. Smiling.
Then it hit me.
It was mine. ❤️
Needless to say... I said yes. ❤️
As I reflected on this journey, I realized that many of the lessons I've learned from this relationship are exactly the same lessons that investing has taught me.
1. You Have To Take Some Risk
Many people are afraid to start investing because they're afraid of losing money.
But the truth is...
Without taking some risk, it's very difficult to achieve meaningful rewards.
Imagine if I never replied to Ken's first message.
Imagine if I refused to meet him in New Zealand because I was too scared.
Our relationship would never have existed.
The same thing happened when I started investing over 10 years ago.
I was scared too.
What if I lost money? What if I made a mistake?
But because I was willing to take a calculated risk and start investing with real money, I was able to build a portfolio worth over a million dollars today.
A portfolio that gives me the freedom to travel, and spend two months in Taiwan right now.
Sometimes, the biggest risk is never taking the first step.

2. Embrace The Ups And Downs
Over the last four years, Ken and I have had our fair share of struggles.
Long-distance relationships aren't always easy.
There were misunderstandings.
There were difficult conversations.
There were moments of uncertainty.
But that's normal.
Every meaningful relationship experiences ups and downs.
Investing is exactly the same.
Your portfolio will never go up in a straight line.
There will be corrections.
There will be crashes.
There will be scary headlines.
As Warren Buffett once said: "Volatility is not a bug. It's a feature."
Regardless if you’re building a five, six, or seven-figure portfolio, you will experience fluctuations.
It's part of the journey.
But if you're willing to stay committed through the storms, the rewards can be incredible.
In my relationship, I found a life partner.
In investing, I built a million-dollar portfolio.
And both required staying the course.

I really enjoy the freedom that investing and freediving give me! ☺️
3. Find What Truly Suits You
Before meeting Ken, I went on dates.
I tried online dating.
I met different people.
Some were wonderful people.
But they weren't the right fit for me.
As I got to know them better,
I realized our values, goals, and lifestyles weren't aligned.
Then I met Ken.
And I found someone who checked many of the boxes that mattered deeply to me:
✓ Financially intelligent
✓ Growth-mindset
✓ Loves exercise and adventure
✓ Caring and responsible
✓ Always striving to become a better person
I'm sure there are many amazing people in this world.
But I only needed one life partner.

Investing is exactly the same.
There are many ways to make money.
Stocks/Forex/Crypto/Property.
None of them are inherently wrong.
But over the years, I've discovered that ETFs combined with Options suit me best.
It gives me consistency.
It gives me peace of mind.
It gives me a framework that I can follow regardless of market conditions.
And since many of my students and I shifted our portfolios toward this strategy, we've experienced tremendous growth while sleeping much better at night.
The key isn't finding the "best" strategy.
The key is finding the strategy that fits your personality and allows you to stay invested for the long term.
Because the best investment strategy is the one you can actually stick with.
If you're still trying to figure out where to begin, I'd love to invite you to join my free 2-hour investing masterclass.
I'll show you how I combine ETFs and options to build wealth in a way that's simple, practical, and peaceful.
One Final Advice
If you've ever wanted to try freediving, I highly recommend doing it in Taiwan.
As complete beginners, Ken and I progressed from having almost no experience to safely diving 7–8 meters underwater and capturing beautiful memories together.

We are so well equipped!!
What impressed me most was that Kobe handled everything—from training to accommodation recommendations, transportation, and even photography and videography.
The entire trip cost us less than S$1,300 in total.
But the memories we created?
Absolutely priceless. ❤️
If you're interested, you can reach out to Kobe via Instagram.
He speaks both English and Chinese and takes great care of his students.

Thank You

And who knows?
That one small step might just change your life forever. 💓
