are you guilty of this too?

I'm for sure

In partnership with

Arigato, dear investor,

Yesterday, I celebrated my 35th birthday back home in Singapore — and I just want to say… I feel so, so blessed. 🥰

Not just because of the birthday wishes or the celebration, but because I got to spend quality time with the people who matter most.

I’m not sure if you feel the same sometimes…
But I’ve realised how often we can get caught up in working hard for our parents, but not spending time with them.

Life gets busy.
We travel.
We hustle to build a better life for them.
But we forget that what they truly want… is us.

That’s why I’m really grateful I blocked out my entire evening yesterday just for my mum — no distractions.

Just the two of us, having a beautiful dinner at a cosy Cantonese restaurant (her favourite kind), where she could just talk, and I just listened.

My mum loves sharing her stories.
She thrives on companionship.
And last night reminded me how long it’s been since I gave her my undivided time and attention.

She even said something that stuck with me —
“Sitting and chatting with you here… it’s better than any holiday.”
(She doesn’t like travelling much anymore — too tiring, she says 😅)

Later in the evening, we visited some relatives, and I was amazed — my uncle and auntie look so youthful and full of life, even though we haven’t met in years.

It reminded me again: Age is just a number.
How we live matters so much more than the number of candles on the cake.
And honestly, I feel so confident that I’ll still feel great — and look great 😄 — even at 50, if I keep living aligned to what matters most.

This birthday gave me one beautiful reminder I wanted to pass on to you:

Time is the most precious thing we can ever give.
Not money. Not gifts.
But our presence.
Our listening ears.
Our full attention.
Our unwavering support.

So while you’re working hard to build your portfolio, your career, or your future…
Don’t forget what you already can give — right here, right now.

You don’t have to have it all figured out.
You just need to keep showing up for the people who love you.

I believe in you.
You got this 💛

P.S. To everyone who sent me birthday wishes yesterday — thank you so, so much 💛
I might not be able to reply to every message personally, but please know that I’ve read them and I’m truly grateful for your kind blessings.
