Wealth creation has always been a lifelong journey for me. But recently, I’ve been thinking a lot about another lifelong journey—starting a family.

I used to believe that having kids before 30 wasn’t for me. I had so many things I wanted to do, places to see, and a life to build on my own terms. But my previous partner felt very differently—he was certain about wanting kids, as soon as possible. That caused me so much stress in my mid 20s, and the difference in perspective eventually led to the end of our 7-year-long relationship.

But now, as I approach my mid-30s, something has changed. More and more of my friends are having kids, and every time I see their little ones—so full of life, so incredibly adorable—I can’t help but wonder… what if?

And recently, after interviewing six different women about their views on motherhood in Singapore, I find myself even more conflicted.

Some of their insights truly opened my eyes. Others left me with even more questions than answers.
