Arigato, {{ first name | dear investor }},
When I tell people that some of my Singapore bank investments have returned 278% on DBS, 208% on OCBC, and 109% on UOB, the first question I usually get is:
"Wow! How much cash did you invest?"
My answer surprises almost everyone.
I didn't use my cash.
I used my CPF.
Did you know that around 75% of Singaporeans don't invest their CPF?
Instead, they leave their Ordinary Account (OA) savings to earn the guaranteed 2.5% per year.
Now, don't get me wrong.
There's nothing wrong with earning a guaranteed return.
But personally...
I didn't feel 2.5% was enough to keep up with inflation, let alone build the kind of retirement I wanted.
So six years ago, I decided to make my CPF work harder.

Why I chose Singapore bank stocks
One of my favourite CPF investments has been Singapore's three local banks:
By buying them when valuations were attractive—not simply because everyone was talking about them—I've been fortunate to see some of my holdings grow by:

And that's before factoring in the 10%/yr dividends I've collected over the years.
The biggest lesson?
It's not just about buying great companies.
It's about buying great companies at the right price.
That's exactly what I teach inside my Bank In Profits Workshop
